New Steps

As the wedding videography game has increased momentum for The Fellowship, it became increasingly obvious that it was time to get into the wedding expo game. Many wedding vendors use online platforms like The Knot and The Wedding Wire to find and network with potential clients. Perhaps that is something I will attempt myself one day.

At present, I felt the need to get my hands in the dirt so to speak...to get out there and market and network with people in-person. Get in the trenches. Shake hands. Meet new people. Create partnerships.

Several months ago, I leapt to make that happen, and just a couple weeks ago, The Fellowship went on the road to attend its first wedding expo. And MAN, what an experience!

The True Meaning of Connections

The amazing part about events like these is being able to just TALK with people. Not even simply about the packages we offer or the services we provide, but getting to discuss their big day with them. Ask them about themselves, where they are from, maybe joke around a bit. Because, if we're being honest, people love to connect with one another; feel that another person they are talking to is human and not some kiosk machine that will spit out a product after you punch in what you want to buy from it.

In networking in such a way, we can build not only ourselves, but grow along with others. Some people may take one look at this "friendly, personable" model and think its nothing but a ploy to draw people into a business transaction. That is where they would be wrong, at least for those here at Fellowship Studios.

Here, it is our FIRM BELIEF that forming real, genuine connections with those we work with is key. That is a part of the reason our name is what it is.

I had the absolute pleasure of meeting and talking with talented Sarah Rehmeyer of Sarah Rehmeyer Photography at this event and the two of us hit it off in connecting over photography and videography. With our booths both being side by side near the entrance to the expo, it was easy to discuss upcoming shoots, camera preferences, our favorite gear, and future work. And SPOILER ALERT: there may be a potential partnership coming from all of this between the two of us!

All this to say that the first Wedding Expo for Fellowship Studios was a major success, filled with meeting a huge amount of awesome people. We are looking forward to our next venture and hope to help capture the memories of all those who visited us looking for videography on their big day!
